The last Laytown Strand Races took place on Thursday September 13th 2012, the first race started at 4.30pm. 2012 was the 145th running of the event which was first recorded in 1868. Next races are on 3rd September 2013. Laytown races occupies a unique position in the Irish and English racing calendar as it is the only race event run on a beach under the rules of the Turf Club.
